“When everything is connected to everything else, for better or for worse, everything matters.”
_Bruce Mau, Massive Change

Interdependent compiles various symbols, imagery and content that relate to our inherent bond to each other and the environment. Networks merge as the Wi-Fi symbol appears in the lower ladder of a DNA strand, telephone lines link to strands of a spider web, and diagrams of Facebook friends scatter into cloud patterns.  Works in exhibition include: two acrylic paintings featuring networks that form our planet (Earth-1, Earth-2); three wax drawings inspired by mold patterns and air currents (Growth); four acrylic visual interpretations of the “bubble universe” or parallel universe concept (Multiverse); five complex drawings of networks including neural imagery from SciArt Center’s Bridge Residency collaboration (Intertwined).
